Becoming Adobe Photoshop certified has been a transformative step in my digital arts journey. With this certification, I’ve gained the skills to manipulate images, enhance colors, and bring creative concepts to life with precision. From editing photos for school projects to crafting visuals for events, Photoshop has become my go-to tool. It’s not just about technical skills—it’s about deepening my understanding of design principles and storytelling. For my Photoshop portfolio, I’ve included two meaningful images. The first is an artwork representing Venezuela through my eyes, capturing my connection to my heritage, a place my parents reminisce about but haven’t been able to revisit. The quote in this artwork, “Tengo tu luz, tu aroma en mi piel” (“I carry your light and scent on my skin”), reflects how my roots in Venezuela live within me, even though I’ve never been able to visit. The second image is an old photo of my parents taken in their hometown of Barcelona, Venezuela, in 1994—just five years before they married and immigrated to the United States together. I restored this photo from a faded yellow to a classic black and white, preserving a piece of their story. Despite the distance, my Venezuelan heritage is woven into who I am. With elections this year, we hold on to fe—faith—that one day I’ll experience Venezuela through their eyes.
