Perserving Our Story
Yearbook has become more than just a class; it’s my way of capturing the essence of our school community and preserving memories that will last a lifetime. Although I’m in my third year of yearbook at La Salle, my journey began back in 8th grade. Through my STEAM Digital Arts, I’ve refined my skills in storytelling, design, and layout, learning to document the friendships, accomplishments, and unforgettable moments that make each year unique. Yearbook has taught me the importance of collaboration, attention to detail, and the responsibility that comes with creating something lasting. It’s rewarding to know that our work will be cherished for years, a true reflection of our shared experiences and school spirit.
ILS Wrapped
During my sophomore year, the yearbook team developed an exciting concept for our book titled Our Year Wrapped, inspired by the popular Spotify Wrapped trend. This theme allowed us to present the school year as a "playlist" of highlights, reflecting on the most memorable moments as if they were tracks that defined our journey. I was honored to be chosen as the graphic editor, where I designed various elements that captured the 2022 Wrapped theme. Creating the cover was especially meaningful, as it set the tone for everything inside, ensuring that every detail felt cohesive and vibrant. This project became a unique way to immortalize our experiences, and being able to bring my creative vision to a yearbook that so many would treasure made it an unforgettable experience.
The Adventure Awaits
In my second year with the yearbook team, I pitched the theme *The Adventure Awaits,* inspired by the idea of postcards capturing journeys and sharing memories. Although we kept the postcard concept, the theme evolved into something more meaningful—a way to showcase each student’s unique journey throughout the year. After pitching this idea, I was made editor-in-chief, overseeing the entire process and shaping the book from front to back. Working closely with my team to bring this vision to life, I guided them in creating a cohesive “postcard journey” that beautifully captured our shared experiences. I'm incredibly proud of how it turned out, as it truly reflects the adventure that each of us lived and shared.
In my senior year on the yearbook team, each of us pitched theme ideas, and while mine wasn’t chosen, the theme Go for Gold stood out to all of us. This theme, originally proposed by first-year members, resonated with the whole team for its celebratory and goal-oriented spirit. I was honored when they suggested I take on the lead role to make the final design choices; becoming the editor-in-chief for the second year. Together, we transformed the initial concept, which centered on “literary Olympics” with medal iconography, into a modern and innovative design. We reimagined the Olympic rings, using cutouts and other creative techniques to give the book a sleek, cohesive look. The whole experience was meaningful, allowing us to bring the team’s vision to life in a way that felt fresh and true to our journey.
