Swimming

Being on the swim team for the past three years has been one of the most impactful parts of my high school experience. It started as something new and challenging — waking up early for practice, learning how to pace myself, and building endurance — but quickly became something I couldn’t imagine my days without. Over time, the pool became a place where I felt strong, grounded, and focused. By senior year, being chosen as the girls’ team captain was a full-circle moment. It was more than just a title — it was a responsibility I took to heart. I made it a point to encourage every girl on the team, celebrate every small win, and bring energy to every practice and meet. Being captain meant being the one they could count on, and I felt honored to lead a group of girls who inspired me just as much as I hoped to inspire them. Swimming has taught me perseverance, patience, and the power of showing up — for yourself and for others.

Track and Field

Track and field has been a constant in my high school journey, shaping me over four years into someone who knows the value of perseverance and adaptability. I began as a distance runner, committed to the 2-mile and the discipline it demanded, but when knee injuries challenged that path, I didn’t step away — I shifted. Determined to stay part of the sport I loved, I transitioned into throwing events and embraced the opportunity to grow in new ways. This pivot taught me that strength isn’t just about speed or power — it’s about resilience, showing up even when it’s hard, and finding new ways to keep going. Whether I was running laps or stepping into the throwing circle, I gave my all, proving to myself that with heart and determination, there’s always a way forward.

Volunteer Experiences

LINK.

LINK Club holds a special place in my heart because it’s more than just a club — it’s a community rooted in love, understanding, and inclusion. My cousin has Down syndrome, and I’ve grown up knowing how important it is for every person to feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Being part of LINK has allowed me to share that love by spending time with students who have disabilities, learning from them, and building friendships that truly matter. It’s even more meaningful because my best friend, who founded the club, was inspired by her younger sister Nicole — watching her passion and commitment has made my involvement even more personal. LINK has taught me to lead with compassion, and I’m grateful for every smile, every high-five, and every memory we’ve created together.

Sandhill Camp

Volunteering over 200 hours at Sandy Hill Camp as a head counselor was one of the most meaningful experiences of my summer. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and a joyful community, I had the privilege of leading and mentoring young girls — not just in having fun, but in discovering moments of true meaning rooted in Christ. From morning prayers to late-night cabin chats, I saw how even the smallest moments could become opportunities to grow in faith and friendship. It meant so much to me to help create a space where the girls felt safe, loved, and inspired. Sandy Hill isn’t just a camp — it’s the place to be, and being part of it reminded me how powerful service, joy, and God’s presence can be in everyday life.
